JAMIS Software Corporation proudly continues support to the Professional Services Council (PSC) this holiday season to collect food and donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) during PSC’s annual membership meeting
JAMIS Software Corporation, the leading provider of world-class project ERP software, is once again partnering with the Professional Services Council (PSC) this holiday season to collect food for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) during PSC’s annual membership meeting on December 14.
For the last consecutive, five years, JAMIS has encouraged attendees of the annual PSC membership meeting to bring non-perishable food items, a grocery store gift card, or to donate directly via CC with onsite supporting PSC personnel. Those who give will be entered into a drawing for a prize donated by JAMIS Software Corporation.
Having partnered with AFAC in the past, JAMIS Software is dedicated to continuing to help to further their mission. AFAC, a community-based non-profit providing supplemental groceries to Arlington neighbors in need. AFAC serves an average of 2,200 families each week. The organization receives 65 percent of the food it distributes—including essential nutrition items such as eggs, milk, fresh produce, bread, and oatmeal—from direct donations.
The ever-increasing high cost of living in the region often means that many families find it difficult to make ends meet. The AFAC reports that approximately 31,500 residents of Arlington County are considered to be food insecure with 7,000 of them currently being served by their organization. AFAC sees an acute need for donations during this time of year because the number of families seeking assistance typically increases during the holiday season.
JAMIS is dedicated to enriching the communities in which they conduct business, including the Arlington community.
“AFAC is a vital resource for Arlington families, and we’re happy to support their mission to help our neighbors in need,” said PSC President and CEO, David Berteau.
AFAC is located at 2708 South Nelson Street in Arlington, VA. For more information about how to organize a food drive or donate, please visit afac.org.
