Setting up your DCAA Compliant Accounting System
JAMIS has designed and developed our project ERP solutions from inception to help customers meet needs for a DCAA compliant system. JAMIS helps customers meet federal government regulations outlined in the CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) and FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation). Companies using the JAMIS system are regularly certified as being compliant and routinely pass their DCAA audits. JAMIS gives you the tools you need for compliance in all material respects with the criteria contained in FAR 53.209-1(f) and Standard Form 1408 (SF-1408). It’s important to note that the DCAA requires that each government contractor’s processes, including accounting policies and procedures be compliant. The software package alone cannot guarantee compliance.
The following JAMIS capabilities help government contractors meet DCAA compliance standards:
- Segregation of direct and indirect costs
- Cumulative-to-date direct costs by WBS (work breakdown structure) element and cost element
- Cost collection by pool and calculation and allocation of indirect costs by provisional, target, and/or actual burden rates
- Segregation and identification of unallowable costs
- Total time accounting and uncompensated overtime/effective pay rate calculations
- Change audit trail for electronic timecards
- Email notice to employee if electronic timecard is not completed on a daily basis
- Access/maintenance of electronic timecards limited to authorized personnel only
- Recording of timecard electronic signature, submittal, and approval actions in audit trail
- Government per diem limits checking and proper segregation of unallowable overages on electronic expense reports
