Information Technology Engineering Corporation (ITEC) has built a reputation as a market leader in delivering cost-effective, individually tailored staffing solutions that meet the needs of its IT and engineering customers. Yet the company was being held back by accounting software that couldn’t handle its growing needs.
“We have a system today that is meant for much smaller companies than what ours has become,” said Randy Dingle, ITEC’s president. “We have 125 employees and counting. We needed a system that would make our jobs easier and take away a lot of the manual tasks that are required with our current system.”
ITEC, which has had average growth of 28% per year for the last five years, wanted enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that would support efforts to maintain an agile and cost-effective back office to better serve its customers. ITEC also wanted real-time visibility into key data to pinpoint growth opportunities, identify areas for improvement and to help the company make better business decisions.
ITEC conducted thorough research and decided to evaluate Microsoft Dynamics, Deltek, QuickBooks with associated govcon utilities and JAMIS. “It was clear right away that Deltek wasn’t right for us,” recounted Dingle. “And JAMIS was simply more robust and easier to use than Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks. In the end, we decided that JAMIS had the best a solution to fit a business our size and at a reasonable cost.”
Dingle said he was surprised to learn that JAMIS offered such a solution. “There’s a perception that JAMIS only works with larger companies,” he said. “In fact, some of our employees who are staffed with Raytheon use it there. But we can take advantage of JAMIS Prime ERP’s capabilities right away—and it’s very scalable, ensuring we can grow with it.” Dingle adds that the cost was competitive and that ITEC was impressed with the overall professionalism of the JAMIS sales team and implementation team, which is led by SDL Consulting, a certified JAMIS Partner.
The system that JAMIS is replacing at ITEC runs on local servers, which is one reason the company is looking forward to JAMIS Prime ERP’s cloud-based approach. “The system we have been using has too much risk associated with it,” said Dingle. “We really wanted to get to the cloud for better data security.”
Dingle said that JAMIS Prime ERP literally put a halt to the company’s evaluation process. “We were going to look at other systems beyond what we had originally planned to evaluate,” said Dingle. “That is, until we saw JAMIS.”
